Industry Involvement

Narelle has extensive experience in the organic cosmetic sector, being the first in the world to create a certified organic cosmetic product back in 2001. She has witnessed (and been affected by) plenty of changes in the organic sector over the last 20 years and has stayed abreast of the developments in the key organic standards in Australia (ACO) and the USA (NOP).

She is a passionate advocate for maintaining high standards for cosmetic products, and has served on the following national and international committees:

• International Standards Organisation (ISO) Working Group 4 and Standards Australia mirror committee CS-108  for the development of the guidelines on technical definitions and criteria for natural and organic cosmetic ingredients: 2011-current.

• Australian Organic Industry Working Group: 2017 – 2018.

• Organic Industry Standards and Certification Council (OISCC) National Standard Sub-Committee: 2015-2017.

• Australian Society Cosmetic Chemists Natural and Organics Working Group: 2011-2013.

• BFA Cosmetic Advisory Group: 2009 - 2012.
